The Dáil returns today after its three week Christmas break.
The new term will see the the government defend the introduction of the 100-euro household charge – which is being met with stiff opposition from a number of TDs.

Opposition parties are also expected to crank up the pressure on the government over the deal to save the Euro.
Meanwhile Campaigners against the household charge are setting up a hotline to offer advise to those opposed to the charge.
