A Clare Fine Gael Senator says he’s confident the Taoiseach will issue a full apology to women who were abused in Magdalene laundries.
Labour TDs and Senators have said the treatment inflicted on the women was a historical wrong that had to be put right.
Their statement followed a parliamentary party meeting which heard widespread criticism of the Government’s handling of the issue.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has been criticised for not issuing a frank apology on the matter, but North Clare Senator Martin Conway is confident Magdalene survivors will get what they are seeking.
