Campaigners for victims of clerical abuse have given a cool response to Bishop John Magee’s first interview since the publication of the Cloyne Report.
Yesterday, Bishop Magee broke his media silence on the report.
The former Bishop of Cloyne apologised to the victims and took full responsibility for the failure to protect them.
But Andrew Madden – who’s a survivor of clerical abuse – is unimpressed by the Bishop’s comments.
While the Chief Executive of One in Four says she believes the former Bishop of Cloyne doesn’t understand the gravity of what happened in his diocese.
Meave Lewis says she’s concerned at the sentiments expressed in the statement.
