Two brothers are being hailed as heroes after they saved their elderly father from a housefire in Corofin.
Patrick and Thomas Brosnan entered their father's home on the Gort Road when the blaze broke out there yesterday morning, and rescued their father William from the property.

William and Patrick were hospitalised as a precautionary measure, as a result of smoke inhalation.
Gardaí have carried out investigations into the cause of the fire, while local community activist Gerard Kennedy says people there are relieved that everyone is OK.
