People who are self-isolating in East Clare are being urged to reach out to a newly launched community group who are ready to help in any way possible.
Older people, people with disabilities and health conditions are among those cocooning or 0self-isolating as a result of COVID-19, and they are being encouraged to ring or WhatsApp a new helpline and a local liaison will be in touch to provide whatever help is needed.
The line works in tandem with the county-wide helpline, is open from 9am to 4pm seven days a week and they have volunteers scattered right around the east of the county.
One of the organisers Jim Collins says while there has been an increase in people utilising the service, they are not overwhelmed.
