Clare County Council’s CEO is hopeful that growth at Shannon Airport will help strengthen the case for further developments in the MidWest.
Pat Dowling has been speaking in light of the announcement by Norwegian Air International of new services from Ireland to the US.
While there are four weekly services from Shannon, 12 are coming from Dublin, prompting calls from Labour TD Alan Kelly for an investigation into the matter.

He’s also questioned the government’s commitment to regional developments, while Pat Dowling of Clare County Council says this region needs to position itself as a counterbalance to Dublin.
