Council Chief Executive Reassuring Needs Of Shannon Heritage Workers Will Come First

The Chief Executive of Clare County Council is reassuring Shannon Heritage workers that their needs will be put front and centre in the transition of the sites to local authority control.

Council CEO Pat Dowling confirmed to Clare FM that a meeting will take place with Shannon Group next week to begin discussions on what he says is the ‘considerable’ work that needs to be done before a contract can be signed – something he says realistically won’t happen until 2022.

As part of the process, an officer will be appointed to oversee the due diligence of the transfer which includes decisions in relation to finance, operational matters, employee structure, and a legal review.
