A North Clare Councillor has said it is a “disgrace” that the derelict Blake’s and Linnane’s buildings will be left untouched in Ennistymon, as people there face seeing homes and businesses knocked.
However, Lahinch representative Bill Slattery says local representatives have had no option but to support the planned development works by Clare County Council.
Those plans were unanimously passed last evening, but Councillor Slattery and others have said they would prefer for an outer relief road to have been built instead.

However, that plan was rejected by Transport Infrastructure Ireland on cost grounds.
