Clare County Council has announced that it will give locals in South East Clare more time to give their views on the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.
It follows calls for an extension of the public consultation scheme from locals in Parteen, Clonlara and Ardnacrusha who are opposed to the new road.

The Council was giving people until the 16th of January to make submissions, but the deadline has now been extended until February 12th.
The controversial road is set to link Coonagh with with Parteen, Ardnacrusha and UL but has been described as unnecessary by some.
