Council Fleeced in Daylight Robbery

It’s emerged that a recent "Sheep Rustling" incident in Ennis, took place in broad daylight as a local contractor brought the "flock" from Clon Road through the town!

Four copper sheep sculptures had "grazed" the roadside – close to Cusack Park since 2007 in memory of the Clon Road Fairs of the Past, but are now the subject of a garda investigation since their recent theft.

Ennis Town Council has heard the copper sheep were worth around 3,000 euro each and were actually removed from a vehicle while in transit between the site and the and the council yard.

Green Councillor Brian Meaney feels the local authority was fleeced!
