Clare County Council has insisted it’s fully prepared for yet another cold snap, due to take hold in the county from later today
Wintry showers are expected to last into next week, and will mainly affect west Connacht and south west Munster this afternoon and tomorrow.
3 to 10 cm of snow is predicted, with more over higher ground while further scattered wintry showers are to follow over the weekend – night-time temperatures could fall to as low as -10, while a widespread frost with ice and freezing fog is predicted.
