Local representatives in Ennis say any plans to use mediation in the hopes of ending violent traveller feuds in the town will need to be closely scrutinised with regards to costs.
A meeting of the town’s Joint Policing Committee, which was addressed by Martin Collins of travellers’ representative group Pavee Point, has discussed the possibility of using trained mediators to broker a deal between feuding factions.

Mediation has been trialled unsuccessfully in the past however, and Committee Chairman Paul O’Shea says the Town Council will have to ensure funds are not wasted.
