Legal fees at Clare County Council have cost almost 2 million euro in less than two years.
The council has been asked to look at all ways of reducing legal costs after solicitors bills totalling 1.39 million euro for 2008 were outlined to council members this week, along with fees totalling 573 thousand for this year so far.
The council employs the services of John Shaw of Michael Houlihan and Partners as their county solicitor but West Clare councillor Christy Curtin is questioning whether the employment of an in-house solicitor would cut costs
