Clare County Council is reminding hauliers, bus operators and owners of large vehicles that a temporary weight restriction remains in place on Latoon Creek Bridge.
The 3.5 tonne restriction was imposed on the bridge, 4 kilometres south of Clarecastle, in November following a structural investigation.
The local authority says a consultant has been appointed to carry out repairs and that its necessary to keep restrictions in place until these works are completed.
A number of families are no longer served by buses on account of the restrictions and while Bus Eireann has continued to use an alternative route, fears have been expressed that the service won't be maintained in the long run.
Local Pensioner Joe Reynolds says locals have been left in limbo – he's calling for an alternative service to be put place.
