Council Says Identifying Origins Of Clare Animal Bodies Unlikely

Clare County Council say it's unlikely they'll be able to trace the origin of animal carcasses found washed up on a Doonbeg beach.

The decomposing bodies of a calf and a foal were found by a memebr of the public out walking on Whitestrand beach.

One of the bodies has now been removed but council workers have still not located the second.

West Clare Municipal District Engineer Cyril Feeney says the carcasses appear to have been in the water for some time and their decomposed state makes identification of the owners almost impossible.
