Council Spent 900 Euro On Failed Hurler Prosecution

It’s been revealed that Clare County Council spent almost 900 euro on a failed prosecution against a former All Ireland winning hurler with Clare.

Reports in today’s national media state that the local authority spent the money in an attempted prosecution against Niall Gilligan over his placing an auctioneer’s sign on the side of the road at O’Callaghan’s Mills in October 2010 – the prosecution was ultimately thrown out.
