Local politics will make a return to Ireland's former capital today in honour of Brian Boru.
Clare County Council will hold it's April meeting in the former seat of Ireland's High King, 1000 years on from his death at the Battle of Clontarf and following on from the weekend's successful millennium events in Ballina and Killaloe.

Clare County Council had also requested the cabinet to hold a meeting in Killaloe to honour Ireland's former capital but no decision was ever made public from the Taoiseach or government.
