Clare County Council is to write to Jeremy Clarkson and his colleagues to invite Top Gear to tour the Wild Atlantic Way.
The proposal to have one of the most popular motoring shows in the world visit Clare and the scenic driving route follows its success in attracting new visitors since its launch in 2014.

Killaloe area Fianna Fáil Councillor Allan O’Callaghan proposed the motion saying it would open up the beauty of Clare to a worldwide audience.
It received unanimous backing, and a letter will now be sent to the BBC outlining the proposal.
