An Ennistymon councillor says the local authority is working with a number of agencies to attract investment to the county.
The mid-west region is being promoted under the National Planning Framework and some Clare representatives have expressed concern that not enough emphasis is being placed on Ennis.
But recent figures show that Clare was behind only Dublin, Galway and Limerick when it came to visits by IDA sponsored companies last year – and this figure looks set to rise.
