A West Clare Councillor is calling for a comprehensive countywide program to tackle Japanese Knotweed.
The dreaded knotweed is known for being destructive, and a TII-funded treatment program to tackle areas where it has been found adjacent to the county’s national roads is underway.
Japanese Knotweed has been found on the Ennis/Kilrush, Ennis/Ennistymon and Killimer/Ballyvaughan routes, but Lissycasey Councillor PJ Kelly has called for more attention to be paid to other areas as well.
