A number of Clare councillors have called for access to the to be given to local representatives to the names and addresses of social housing applicants.
As of late last year, there were 2,644 applicants on the social housing waiting list, and concern has been expressed that not enough information about these people has been provided to the figures representing them.
However, Data Protection Legislation prevents the release of this information for all local authorities.
