Residents in one of Clare’s coastal communities hardest-hit by storms earlier this month say they’re hopeful measures carried out in the area will protect their homes, ahead of the latest storm to hit the county.
Clare County Council has spent €50,000 erecting a 4,000-tonne interim flood barrier at Clohaninchy near Quilty, where over a dozen homes were flooded four weeks ago.

A status orange Weather warning is in place for tomorrow, as Met Eireann forecast gusts up to 130km an hour.
The poor weather coincides with a high spring tide, and Clare County Council warns flooding is possible both along the coast and inland.
