Clare County Council has adopted a new plan to deal with Traveller Accommodation.
The document outlines the amounts of housing required and shows a change in the type being sought by members of the community.

By 2018 Clare County Council expects to have an additional 40 traveller families seeking accommodation in the area.
At the end of last year 94 families were in need of permanent accommodation with the majority – 74 in the Ennis area.
This new plan says 134 homes will be required by 2018 – 104 of this in Ennis 17 in Ennistymon and 13 in Shannon.
The council aims to have a mix of private and directly provided accommodation.
