County Council works to restore full water supply

Clare County Council expect it will be midweek before all parts of the county have their water service restored as ongoing repairs continue.

Water restrictions look set to continue over the coming days as the council attempts to deal with burst and leaking pipes in the county with dozens of areas in Clare facing into their second week without a  full  supply of water to their homes

Water tankers and standpipes remain in place in Ennis, Clarecastle, Shannon, Cratloe, Ennistymon and Lahinch and water will be cut off in many areas of South East Clare, Ennis and North Clare between 8pm and 8am to conserve supplies.

Myles Carey from Clare County Council’s Water Services says the council is making significant progress and responding to the public’s reports of water stoppages in their areas.
