A Clare Councillor has made a complaint to Gardaí about online abuse that has been targeted at him in recent weeks.
The incident occurred on Twitter when the Meelick Fianna Fáil Councilor attempted to defend Austin Stack whose father Brian was murdered by the IRA in 1983.
After defending Mr Stack, Councilor Crowe himself became the target of the abuse, along with some of his family members.
He's said that it was an attempt to damage his good name.
