Clare farmers who have seen their lands devastated by recent flooding will be hopeful of a funding reprieve from government when a senior Minister inspects damage here today.
Minister for Agriculture and Marine Simon Coveney visits Liscannor, Ballynacally, Kildysart, Lacknashanna and Miltown Malbay this afternoon, areas which were among hardest-hit by the recent storms and flooding.
The Taoiseach has admitted not enough money has been earmarked for flood defence works in the years ahead, but Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen has expressed confidence that Clare will get sufficient funding.
Meanwhile, disruption to train services from Ennis to Limerick look set to continue for a number of days due to flooding on the line.
