Former Taoiseach Brian Cowen says his government never saw the crash coming – and didn’t have a plan B.
In his first full interview since leaving office – reported on in the Irish Independent this morning – Mr Cowen stands over the controversial banks guarantee.

He told TG4’s Comhra programme that the government didn’t believe people who were warning of danger at the time of collapse.
