The Credit Reviewer John Trethowan says banks are playing it safe when it comes to lending to businesses.
The office of the credit reviewer has published its quarterly review and John Trethowan says the two pillar banks are largely being supportive of medium and low-risk customers.

But he says that they need to develop their approaches to provide credit for all viable businesses.
Nevertheless – he says he’s not advocating a return to overly risky lending.
