The husband of a Killaloe woman who died following a cosmetic surgery procedure in the US is vowing to appeal the verdict in a compensation case over her death.
A six person jury in New York found the anesthesiologist and a nurse had departed from best medical practice in the case of Kay Creegan but found that their actions played no significant role in her death.
Therefore no damages were awarded to her husband Liam Creegan from Croom in Limerick.
However the family will receive over 3 million dollars after the surgeon at the centre of the case Michael Sachs settled out of court last month.
42 year old Kay Creegan died on Saint Patrick’s Day 2005 just days after undergoing a procedure at Dr Sachs’s Manhattan clinic.
