Clare Gardaí are warning that anyone caught in possession of fireworks this Halloween could face up to five years in jail.
Gardaí will be out in force tonight on one of the busiest times of the eyar for emergency services.
The misuse of fireworks can cause distress, particularly to the elderly or to animals and if they continue to burn when they land can cause damage to property.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Tríona O’Rourke says possession of fireworks is an offence.
