The number of Gardaí in Clare has grown by 18 since the end of 2016.
The total number of Gardaí here now stands at 310, up from 292 just three years ago, according to new figures released to the Dáil.
That means that there is currently one Garda for every 383 people living in the county, a figure that’s broadly in line with the national average.

However, 12 counties, including Limerick, Waterford, Westmeath, Louth and Dublin all have more Gardaí than Clare, on a per-head-of-population basis.
