Crisis Meetings In Dublin And London To Save Northern Executive

Crisis meetings are being held in Dublin and London today to try to keep the Northern Ireland executive together. 

The Ulster Unionist Party is quitting the power sharing agreement after a senior PSNI officer claimed the Provisional IRA is still active.

British Prime Minister David Cameron will meet first minister Peter Robinson in Downing Street, while Northern Ireland secretary Theresa Villiers will hold talks with Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald in Dublin.

The Taoiseach and Tanaiste are meeting the Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan this morning, along with Ministers Flanaghan and Fitzgerald, ahead of the talks with Ms Villiers.
