Criticism Levelled at Welfare Department

The Department of Social Welfare has come in for criticism for the red tape involved in people who are unemployed going back to education.

With unemployment in the county now at over 10 thousand 6 hundred, more and more people are looking to up skill in an effort to get another job.

But, they’re being discouraged by the red tape that they have to cut through in order to avail of the back to education grant form the Department of Social and Family Affairs according to Fine Gael Councillor Martin Conway.

Councillor Conway says that he’s been contacted by a number of people who are finding it tough to get through the process
