Criticism of Aer Lingus refusal to use Shanon pre Clearanace facilities

The decision by Aer Lingus not to use the US Customs and Border Protection facilities at Shannon Airport has been criticised by its former CEO.

Willie Walshe, who’s now in charge of British airways, was speaking as the first BA flight from London City airport landed in Shannon this week to use the facilities before travelling onto New York.

Its seen as a major boost for the Mid West Airport but there will be challanges for CPB with Aer Lingus decision not to use the service and Delta set to cut its transatlantic flights for the winter

Aer Lingus say that they will not sign up here until pre clearance is operational in Dublin which Willie Walshe has described as a disappointment
