CSO Report No New COVID Cases In Clare, Despite Contradictions, Clare Could Still Be Covid Free

The CSO says Clare is suggesting that Clare has now gone five weeks without any cases of COVID-19.

That’s despite health officials reporting a new case of the disease here last week.

These CSO figures, based on official health data, confirm that instances of COVID-19 remain low in Clare.

The county has only had two new cases of the disease since the start of June, and recently went a 30-day period without any cases at all.

The most recent announcement of a case of COVID-19 came 12 days ago, on Sunday, July 12th.

However, the CSO figures released today, which are based on the date of diagnosis, shows no new cases here in that week.

In the past, cases have been re-classified in a process that sees them added to or subtracted from a county’s total sometime after the case was diagnosed.

It’s not clear if that has happened here, however, or if there is another explanation for the discrepancy.

Clare FM has reached out to the HSE and the CSO for clarification.

Meanwhile, today’s data also shows that Clare has now had fewer than ten cases per week for ten straight weeks.
