New Rules Banning Hospitality Gifts Good For The Consumer Says Ennis Financial Advisor

An Ennis-based financial consultant believes new rules, which ban mortgage brokers from accepting accepting free golf trips or match tickets from banks, will be good for consumers.

The Central Bank is introducing the new rules in a bid to crack down on any bias or conflicts of interest when they’re advising to customers.

The changes, which come into effect in March next year, also mean financial advisers can’t call themselves “independent” if they’re receiving commission from a bank or insurance company.
