Public Opinion Sought On Redevelopment Of Kildysart’s Cahircon House

A meeting is being held today to get input from the public on a major redevelopment of Cahircon House in Kildysart.

Close to €2 million was allocated to the village late last year for the development of a maritime centre of excellence, with the possibility of the historic house being used as accommodation for trainees.

The house, which was once owned by the Vandeleur family and later by the Salesian religious order, also has 18 acres of grounds attached to it.

Tonight’s meeting in Kildysart Community Centre will see public opinion sought on how best to develop the site and Former Fine Gael County Councillor and Kildysart man Oliver Garry says he favours turning it into a public amenity.
