The scale of the task facing management at the newly independent Shannon Airport has been outlined in Dublin Airport Authority’s annual report.
It confirms passenger numbers at Clare’s international airport fell 14% last year to 1.4 million – largely due to a ‘significant’ drop in military transit traffic.
The DAA’s Chairman also wished Shannon every success, and thanked staff for years of loyal service.
It comes as flights at the Mid West airport increase today through Flybe’s new service to Glasgow coupled with Aer Lingus flights to Portugal
Director of the Irish branch of the Portuguese Trade and Tourism Board Jose Ramos told Clare FM he’s confident this will be a success.
