The DAA has been urged to prioritise Shannon Airport, as it introduces a scheme aimed at increasing the number of tourists visiting Ireland.
As part of yesterday’s budget announcement, it was confirmed that, subject to conditions, the Dublin Airport Authority is to offer a full rebate on airport charges to airlines that bring extra traffic into Shannon, Cork and Dublin
Coupled with the reduction of the air travel tax to three euro from March, it’s hoped that this could serve as an incentive for airlines to set up new routes operating out of the 3 state airports.
