It's claimed two Dail by-elections will now go ahead on the same day as the local and European polls next month.
The Irish Independent is quoting 'coalition sources' as confirming the decision, with the writ for the by-elections to be moved when the Dail resumes next week.

Two Dail seats have been left vacant after the resignation of Independent Deputy Patrick Nulty in Dublin West and the death of Fine Gael's Nicky McFadden in the Longford-Westmeath constituency.
Ireland's voters go to the polls in the Local and European Elections on May 23rd.
