A motion of censure calling for the resignation of the Independent TD Michael Lowry will be put before the Dáil this morning.
The motion, which has the support of all the main parties in the Dáil, was tabled after the publication of the report of the Moriarty Tribunal.

It’s expected to be passed without debate – after Michael Lowry himself said he would not call for a vote on the motion.
The Dáil has no power to force Michael Lowry to resign, and the Independent TD says he has no intention of stepping down.
