As the clean up operation continues on potholes and cracked road surfaces in the wake of the severe cold snap Ennistymon Councillor Martin Conway has renewed calls for an emergency government fund to boost assist Clare County Council’s stretched resources.
News of this year’s road funding allocations is imminent, but the Transport Minister has already said there’ll be no extra money for weather related damage.
Councillor Conway says the funding is vital to prevent serious accidents as motorists swerve to avoid potholes, or lose control due to tyre damage.
