Data Display has been providing electronic display for real-time passenger information and other systems for bus, tram and rail networks for over 30 years.

The company has built up a world-wide customer base with clients including the New York City Department of Transportation, Dublin Bus and the organisers of the London Olympics.

It has now been bought out by Daktronics, an American company which has worked in a similar area by manufacturing products including LED video displays, scoreboard and digital billboards.

The terms of the agreement are confidential, but in a statement Daktronics has said it will retain Data Display's workforce at its 60,000 square foot premises at the Deerpark Industrial Estate.
