Clare farmers are being reminded they must get their applications for the single farm payments in by this evening or face hefty financial penalties.
The deadline to have them lodged with the Agriculture Department in Dublin or at the local office in Kilrush is five pm sharp.

Around 5000 farmers in the county are eligible for the payments and over the past number of days, staff at the Clare Teagasc Offices have been working flat out in assisting people with the forms.
