The President is leading tributes to artist Louis le Brocquy, who has passed away.
Michael D. Higgins says he and his wife Sabine are deeply saddened by the news, describing the legacy Mr le Brocquy has left to humanity as ‘truly great’.

The 95-year-old is survived by his wife Anne, and two sons.
Louis le Brocquy’s well-known work included the Tinker Paintings, and his Portrait ‘Heads of literary figures and fellow artists, such as William Butler Yeats, James Joyce, and his friends Samuel Beckett, Francis Bacon and Seamus Heaney.
