A decision on the contentious Clare-Limerick Boundary issue may not be made until the New Year.
The Environment Minister has said the cabinet is currently preoccupied with economic issues, so the possible extension of a new Limerick Authority into Shannon Banks and Westbury won’t be discussed for a number of weeks at least.
Speaking in Limerick, Minister John Gormley also wouldn’t say whether the matter will be dealt with before Christmas, but insisted he wants to do his best for the city and the region.
