County Clare will find out tomorrow if its campaign to bring Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann back to Ennis for the first time in over three decades will be successful.
It’s estimated that the traditional music festival – which is expected to draw crowds of quarter of a million people – would be worth over 35 million euro in direct expenditure here
Clare along with several other counties , including Cavan – the fleadh’s venue for the past two years- have submitted bids to Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann to host the annual event in 2012 and the successful county will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
Clare County Manager Tom Coughlin is Vice chairman of the working group set up to put together Ennis’s presentation and believes that if the bid is successful – the county as a whole will benefit
