Book lovers in West Clare are to be given a new boost with the official opening of the refurbished Sweeney Library in Kilkee this evening.
The 1.6 million euro project includes the provision of additional library space, theatre and exhibition space, and multifunction spaces, and will be opened by Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan.

Minister Deenihan is also set to attend a second function in the county – he is to travel on to North Clare when he opens the 11th Annual Corofin Traditional Festival, which gets underway tonight.
