The Sixmilebridge man who restored Dev’s Dodge to its former glory has expressed his disappointment that its to remain away from public view.
The 1947 Dodge Plymouth which was presented to the local authority by the De Valera family in 1988 required extensive work after it was damaged during the 2009 floods.
The council was then requested that the former state car be put on public display in the foyer of Aras Contae an Chlair, however this has been effectively ruled out due to several issues, including the car’s weight on the floor of the council foyer and the need to dismantle the building’s doors in order to bring it in.
