Funds allocated for further flood relief works in Ennis are being warming welcomed but there’s disapointment some schemes wont start until next year.
Plans for a sheme on the Watery road has been given the green light, following approval for works at Aughanteeroe but proposed projects at St. Flannans and Ballybeg wont start until early 2010.
The Office of Public Works has provided 135 thousand euro in funding in respect of the Watery Road alleviation scheme which is due to begin shortly, meanwhile a quarter of million euro worth of funding has already been granted in respect of Aughanteeroe, relief work there has already comenced.
Ennis Councillor, Tony Mulqueen says although funding is welcome, certain high risk areas are being left behind.
